The group ATEEZ topped the Oricon chart as soon as they made their comeback in Japan.
Ashes to Light, ATEEZ's second full-length Japanese album released on the 17th, debuted at number one on Oricon's daily album ranking on the day of release.
In addition, Ashes to Light entered the iTunes top albums charts in 26 countries, including No. 1 in Australia and Singapore, and entered the Apple Music top albums charts in a total of 41 countries, including Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong, showcasing the irreplaceable popularity of a "world-class" act.
The title track "Ash" entered the iTunes top songs charts in 11 countries and the Line Music album TOP100 chart. The "Ash" music video also entered the Line Music music video TOP100 chart, and it reached No. 1 on YouTube Music Video Trending Worldwide and Video Trending Worldwide, proving the explosive interest of fans around the world.
Moreover, two previously released Japanese songs by ATEEZ that are included on Ashes to Light — "NOT OKAY" and "Birthday" — also appeared on the iTunes top songs charts, underlining their strong local popularity.
Ashes to Light is ATEEZ's first full-length album released in Japan in about four years and six months. The title track "Ash" powerfully conveys the album's message of "new hope from hardship," blending a fantastical texture and dynamic beats with ATEEZ's more evolved vocals and flashy rapping to leave a strong impression.
The album also includes five new songs — "12 Midnight," which reaches out to loneliness and agony that come at night; "Tippy Toes," which portrays the value of believing in yourself despite wavering feelings; "FACE," which emphasizes the importance of dreams; and "Crescendo," which sings about the preciousness that blooms in everyday life with ATINY (the official fandom name) — plus four previously released songs: "NOT OKAY," "Days," "Birthday" and "Forevermore," making a total of nine diverse tracks.
Following three days of performances from the 13th to the 15th in Saitama, Japan, for the 2025 world tour "IN YOUR FANTASY," ATEEZ held a comeback showcase in Tokyo on the day Ashes to Light was released to meet fans. They performed the title track "Ash" and communicated with fans in fluent Japanese, announcing the start of full-scale local activities.
With high rankings on various charts upon the new album's release signaling a successful comeback, ATEEZ will carry out diverse local activities, including radio appearances. They will also continue the 2025 world tour "IN YOUR FANTASY" with shows in Nagoya on the 20th and 21st and in Kobe on Oct. 22 and 23, keeping the "hot" momentum going.
