SBS 'Would You Merry Me' aloof, chic Choi Woo-shik is captivated by the lovely Jung So-min.
The new SBS Fri.-Sat. drama Would You Merry Me, which premieres Oct. 10 (Fri.) (directed by Song Hyun-wook, Hwang In-hyeok / written by Lee Ha-na / produced by Samhwa Networks, Studio S), is a sweet-and-savage 90-day pretend newlywed story about a man and a woman fighting to win a luxury newlywed home prize. It raises expectations as a work that will showcase solid acting synergy between reliable actor Choi Woo-shik (as Kim Woo-ju) and rom-com queen Jung So-min (as Yoo Merry).
The second teaser released on the 18th (Thu.) features the polar opposite characters of perfectly flawless bread-spoon Kim Woo-ju (played by Choi Woo-shik) and employee, lovely clever Yoo Merry (played by Jung So-min), sparking curiosity.
As the "fourth generation of Myeongsoondang" and the "hexagonal work ace," Woo-ju emits the aura of a perfectly flawless bread-spoon with his filterless blunt speech and indifferent expression. From Woo-ju, who says, "I'm normally not interested in other people's business," happily alone, to a revealed scene of him recoiling at Merry and saying, "Every time you speak I can smell alcohol," the footage draws attention.
Next, the charm of Merry, the "one-employee, 100-times-over CEO," shows her lovable, crisp appeal. To feed her employee she shows a business smile and lashes out about her fiancé's affair. She then sheds tears and even makes a heart above her head, creating expressive changes as dynamic as her life and leaving viewers curious about the story.
Above all, Woo-ju and Merry, who show a back-and-forth chemistry with polar opposite personalities, trigger heart-fluttering moments with a completely changed atmosphere. With the line, "Fate is usually nearby," the ending of the second teaser suggests the two pretend spouses might kiss, making hearts beat faster. As if by a twist of fate they may become "connected," anticipation for Would You Merry Me soars as it will depict how Woo-ju and Merry's relationship becomes tangled and changes while living as a pretend couple.
