Lee Byung-hun revealed a special connection with the couple Son Yejin and Hyun Bin.
The open talk event for the film No Other Choice at the 30th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) was held on the 18th at the Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae District, Busan.
In No Other Choice, actor Lee Byung-hun plays Son Yejin's husband. About his first time acting opposite Son Yejin in a film, he said, "Yejin is an old friend of my wife (actor Lee Min-jung), and they dine together as couples and even play golf together," adding, "so it didn't feel like it was the first time."
He went on to describe the atmosphere during filming, saying, "It was a case where the time to get in sync or to get to know each other was omitted, so we filmed comfortably."
No Other Choice (directed by Park Chan-wook) tells the story of Mansu (Lee Byung-hun), an office worker who felt his life was "all set" until he was suddenly fired, and who, to protect his wife and two children, to hold on to the home he had struggled to buy, and to prepare his own war for reemployment, goes through what follows.
Invited to the competition section of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, No Other Choice is the work Park Chan-wook is releasing three years after Decision to Leave. While Lee Byung-hun and Son Yejin play a married couple, Lee Sung-min, Yeom Hye-ran, Park Hee-soon and Cha Seung-won also appear.
