'Radio Star' Wooze revealed an unusual connection, saying he met Park Jin-Young before his debut.
On the March 17 broadcast of MBC variety show 'Radio Star,' which featured the 'guilty human collection.ZIP' special with Jung Bo-seok, Lee Seok-hoon, Ong Seong-woo and Wooze, Wooze revealed the backstory of how he became a singer.
That day, in response to the question, "Were you crazy about auditions?" he said, "When I was young I wanted to be a singer and also wanted to play soccer, but since I spent more time running around I thought I liked soccer better. I went to Brazil to study soccer right after graduating elementary school."
He continued, "As I practiced, I realized I wasn't the type who was good at it, so I wanted to be a singer so badly that I insisted I should stay in Korea, and I persuaded myself to learn soccer in Korea. I signed up for the soccer academy run by Son Heung-min's father."
After returning to Korea that way, Wooze honestly confessed to his parents that he wanted to be a singer and then began to audition. He said he started with an open audition held by SM, and whenever trainee recruitment notices were posted he submitted applications and took auditions, and he said he failed as many as 40 to 50 times.
After many auditions, Wooze said he was accepted by the agency that used to manage T-ara and Davichi. He said, "While I was a trainee I also auditioned for Pledis Entertainment. At that time I competed for two spots with YG and I went to YG, but if I had gone to Pledis I might have been a trainee peer with SEVENTEEN."
Above all, Wooze asked Kim Gu-ra, "Do you remember 'Entertainment Personnel Office'?" When Kim Gu-ra said, "It's one of the filmographies I don't want to talk about," Wooze said, "I mentioned this back then too: my mother used to run a Chinese restaurant next to the old JYP building. Many entertainers came there for company dinners. There is a photo that was taken by chance back then," and he showed a photo taken with Park Jin-Young, drawing attention.
