Group i-dle (아이들) member Yuqi (YUQI) will begin her first music show promotions since her comeback.
Yuqi will appear on Mnet's M Countdown, airing at 6 p.m. on the 18th, to reveal the music show debut of the title track "M.O." from the single "Motivation."
Yuqi will deliver a bold stage performance fitting the song's hip-hop mood. In particular, the addictive chorus lyric "What's your M.O.?" will be paired with visual highlights such as the "wiper dance," in which she swings her arms widely from side to side, and the "M gesture" made with her hand, capturing fans' attention.
"M.O." climbed to No. 1 on South Korea's Bugs real-time chart and placed high on Melon's HOT 100 (30 days) shortly after its release on the 16th, drawing a hot response domestically. On the U.S. platform iTunes, it reached high positions in nine countries, reaffirming Yuqi's global popularity. The single "Motivation," which includes "M.O.," topped the daily digital album bestseller charts on China's largest music platforms, QQ Music and Kugou Music.
Yuqi's self-written song "M.O." conveys the message that conviction born from instinct, not bound by appearances or rules, is what drives her. Vintage drum loops and a heavy bass combined with Yuqi's solid vocal tone reinterpret the sensibility of 1990s boom-bap hip-hop in a modern way.
Returning with old-school hip-hop, Yuqi will start with Mnet's M Countdown and appear on KBS2's Music Bank on the 19th to meet fans.
