Actor Kim Young-dae will bring to life the singer performance from his show "Let's Go to the Moon" on the stage of "Show! Music Core."
On the 18th, OSEN reported that Kim Young-dae will appear as a surprise guest on MBC's music program "Show! Music Core" scheduled to air on the 27th. He is expected to perform on "Music Core" with an OST from the MBC new Friday-Saturday drama "Let's Go to the Moon," in which he appears.
"Let's Go to the Moon," in which Kim Young-dae appears, is a hyperrealism survival story about three women from dirt-poor backgrounds who cannot survive on salaries alone and jump into crypto investment, and it is set to premiere on the 19th. Kim Young-dae plays Ham Ji-woo, a former singer who left the music scene after a failed first album and now works as director of the big data task force at Maron Confectionery, dreaming of the day he can return to the stage.
For this, Kim Young-dae even participated in the "Let's Go to the Moon" OST. At the drama's press conference earlier, Kim Young-dae said, "There is a scene in the drama where I play the drums. I had never played the drums, so I practiced separately and recorded. My singing ability isn't outstanding, so I worked hard."
Co-star Lee Sun-bin praised, "The song is so good. It enhances the scene. He does very well. Kim Young-dae's voice is embedded in the OST." Ra Mi-ran also chimed in with a laugh, "(Kim Young-dae) is aiming for the music charts to go to music award shows."
The "Music Core" production team sent a love call to Kim Young-dae for an OST stage, and Kim Young-dae gladly accepted. Recently, the "Music Core" production team has been striving to showcase various stages beyond idols in the global K-pop industry. The actor's voice brought the work to life, and the character trait of Kim Young-dae being a former singer seems to have been a perfect fit.
Kim Young-dae is also set to appear as the male lead in the new TVING original series "Dear X," which is scheduled to be released soon. Accordingly, he attended the opening ceremony red carpet of the 30th Busan International Film Festival, which opened on the 17th, alongside co-star Kim Yoo-jung. On top of "Let's Go to the Moon" and the resulting appearance on "Music Core," Kim Young-dae's new challenges are drawing attention.
The "Music Core" episode featuring Kim Young-dae is scheduled to air on Saturday the 27th at 3:15 p.m.
