'Heart Signal' season 1 alum actress Bae Yoon-kyung will appear in the AI hybrid film "Genfluencer."
The film "Genfluencer" is a psychological suspense action piece that depicts the process in which the character 'Lee Jin,' who wanted to become an idol but suffered a devastating accident, resurrects the K-pop idol 'Jina' through generative AI. It was selected as a project for the 2025 AI video content production support program organized by Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), and as the first domestic feature film to realize 50% of total filming with AI video, it is expected to present a new mise-en-scène unlike anything seen before through this innovative attempt.
In the film, Bae Yoon-kyung will challenge dual roles by portraying both the protagonist "Lee Jin" and the AI "Jina," showing a new transformation. She is said to portray the complex inner life of a character engulfed by desire and confusion, presenting a bold attempt. As such, public anticipation is rising for this fresh meeting of a new genre work and Bae Yoon-kyung's novelty.
Bae Yoon-kyung is an actress who has captured public attention by demonstrating stable acting skills as well as a lovable charm and urbane presence through various works including the dramas "Wedding Impossible" and "Ilta Scandal," as well as "Drama Special 2022–Do You Know Ashtanga?", "Unicorn", "Yeonmo", "Undercover", "Record of Youth", and "Hi Bye, Mama!" She now teases dual-role work in a production combined with AI, and curiosity is growing about the other face she will show in this project.
Meanwhile, the film "Genfluencer," in which Bae Yoon-kyung appears, begins shooting at the end of September and is scheduled to meet audiences domestically and abroad in 2026.
