The group's (G)I-DLE member Yuqi's first single topped domestic and international music charts.
Released on the 16th through various music sites, Yuqi's first single "Motivation" proved its strong popularity by ranking No. 1 on the daily digital album bestseller charts of China's largest music platforms QQ Music and Kugou Music. The title track "M.O." and the pre-release song "It Hurts" also secured high positions on QQ Music's overall music video chart.
Yuqi's single also rose to No. 1 on Korean music charts. "M.O." showed Yuqi's strength as a singer-songwriter by reaching No. 1 on the real-time chart of domestic music site Bugs. Both "M.O." and "It Hurts" entered Melon's HOT100 (30th) chart, continuing their upward momentum.
Also, "M.O." charted on iTunes in eight countries and "It Hurts" charted in two countries, demonstrating Yuqi's influence in the global music market beyond Korea and China.
The title track "M.O." is a 1990s boom-bap-based hip-hop track and is an original song by Yuqi that captures her intense and distinctive energy. It rawly expresses the instinctual motivation that drives Yuqi forward, conveying the message that convictions born from intuition, unbound by others' gaze or rules, are the force that moves oneself.
Yuqi will perform her first music show stage on Mnet's M Countdown on the 18th.
