Today (17th) the jointly produced variety show by tvN STORY and t-cast E Channel, My Child's Romance, airs its fifth episode, where tangled feelings are slipping into a maze and a group date mission is given, drawing attention to whether it can bring changes to the hearts of the "my child" participants.
My Child's Romance offers a completely new kind of fun compared with existing dating shows by capturing the hearts of parents watching their children date and the stories of children who grow through dating. After the fourth episode aired, Good Data Fundex announced that in the first week of September the non-drama TV-OTT search responses and non-drama search issue keywords placed My Child's Romance within the rankings.
In the pre-release video, the change in Ahn Seon-jun (son of Ahn Yoo-seong) after his famed cassette tape confession, which moved studio parents, MCs and viewers with his delicate consideration, is noticeable. Kim Sa-yoon (daughter of Kim Dae-hee) expresses her thanks to Ahn Seon-jun, who brought her a cheesecake, saying "the cheesecake was really delicious" and "it must be a popular place," but Ahn Seon-jun hides his awkwardness with short answers, revealing a shifted atmosphere between them. In an interview asking who he would like to date, Ahn Seon-jun answers, "Ah... I can't choose," showing he has grown distant from Kim Sa-yoon, and he even avoids being near her, leaving the watching fathers uneasy.
Meanwhile, Lee Seong-jun (son of Lee Jong-won), who came to the spot after Ahn Seon-jun left, also heads to the LP room feeling down after not receiving a tape the day before, frequently checking Kim Sa-yoon's reactions, and when Kim Sa-yoon immediately follows, the quickly eased mood raises expectations for progress between the two.
In the released preview for episode 5, two roommates who have feelings for Lee Tak-soo (son of Lee Jong-hyuk) — Lee Shin-hyang (daughter of Lee Cheol-min) and Jeon Su-wan (daughter of Jeon Hee-chul) — show forward moves that raise expectations. Leaving behind the playful skinship that became natural between Lee Shin-hyang and Lee Tak-soo in the warm atmosphere, Jeon Su-wan feels an unexplainable distance from Tak-soo despite having chosen mutual inner feelings with him the day before as the two seemed to get closer.
Then, Lee Tak-soo's line "I think I'll decide after talking" hints that this love triangle is not yet decided, while Jeon Su-wan's blunt question "You were the one who sent it (the tape), right?" and Lee Shin-hyang's announcement of straightforwardness, "I'll just keep expressing myself," amplify curiosity about the relationship among the three.
