Netflix (NETFLIX) daily variety show "Getaway and Go with Jangdobari" is returning for season 2.
Getaway and Go with Jangdobari, released every Saturday at 5 p.m. on Netflix (directed by Ryu Soo-bin, produced by TEO), is a travel variety show in which Jang Doyoun packs up story bundles and leaves with friends. In season 1, Byun Yo-han, Wi Ha-jun, Gabee, Jang Ha-o and others appeared, showing unique combinations with MC Jang Doyoun and receiving favorable reviews. Jang Doyoun's distinctive, witty hosting and the relaxed atmosphere are cited as the driving forces of its popularity, and responses such as "addictively fun" and "full of guests' charms" continued.
Season 2 raises expectations by announcing actors Um Tae-gu, Yim Siwan and director Lee Ok-seop as guests, starting with Um Tae-gu. In a teaser released today (17th), Jang Doyoun foreshadowed the direction of season 2, saying, "Season 2 is a successful trip if you accomplish just one thing. But on the premise of 'properly'."
The opener of season 2 is Um Tae-gu. This trip to Gangneung is arranged as a coffee tour for "latte lover" Um Tae-gu. Expectations are growing for the chemistry that will be created as extremely introverted Jang Doyoun and Um Tae-gu enjoy coffee together at the coffee mecca. Yim Siwan presents a trip that blends memories and sentiment through a "memory tour for dialect study abroad(?)" in Buyeo, Chungcheongnam-do. In particular, expectations are higher because Yim Siwan is scheduled to visit in person the place where he studied dialects while preparing for the drama "Boyhood."
Director Lee Ok-seop, who is known as the girlfriend of actor Koo Kyo-hwan and who often travels with Jang Doyoun as close friends, heads to Paris, France with Jang Doyoun. A "graveyard tour for Balzac fans(?)" is prepared for director Lee Ok-seop, an ardent fan of novelist Balzac, promising a unique literary-sentiment trip.
Although she promised that a trip that accomplishes just one thing "properly" would be successful, season 2 is set to bring laughter with even more varied fun and unpredictable chemistry. In the released teaser, Um Tae-gu shyly calls Jang Doyoun "Ok-soon" and then abruptly explodes his unending skit instincts with "When are you going to pay me back?", provoking bursts of laughter. With Yim Siwan he offers unexpected laughs through an unforeseen manners war, and with his close friend director Lee Ok-seop he shows even closer best-friend chemistry by matching couple outfits. Expectations are growing for season 2 of "Getaway and Go with Jangdobari," which will show more than just a simple trip.
Getaway and Go with Jangdobari season 2 officially kicks off starting with the Um Tae-gu episode, which will be released on the 21st (Sat). It can be seen on Netflix every Saturday at 5 p.m.
