The MBC show Save Me! Holmes, which airs on the 18th (directed by Jung Da-hi, Nam Yoo-jung, Kim Wan-chul, Heo Ja-yoon, Kim Seong-nyeon, hereafter "Holmes"), departs on a noodle trail through Seoul's noodle districts.
This episode features "Noodle Road in Seoul," which follows various noodle districts across Seoul. The field tour visits noodle restaurants where office workers quickly eat during lunch, noodle spots frequented by professors, and noodle favorites of company chairmen. The field tour is joined by broadcaster Hong Seok-cheon, The Boyz's Younghoon and Kim Dae-ho.
The three set out to find Seoul's delicious noodles and head to Yeouido. Kim Dae-ho said he spent four of his 14 years at MBC in Yeouido and knows many of Yeouido's notable restaurants, and guided them to a representative buckwheat noodle restaurant that serves Yeouido office workers' lunches.
After tasting the 40-year-old restaurant's buckwheat noodles, Younghoon said, "It's really so delicious. It's among the top three buckwheat noodles I've had," and ate without pause, raising curiosity.
Hong Seok-cheon revealed that he once opened a Thai restaurant in Yeouido and confessed that he gave up because he didn't understand the Yeouido commercial district, where speed is essential. He also coolly analyzed the reasons for the failure, saying Yeouido is a place that has to make money from lunch service.
Afterwards, the three toured a large Yeouido apartment complex. Built in 1971, it is a 55-year-old apartment and is said to be Korea's first complex-style apartment. Kim Dae-ho introduced it by saying, "It was the first apartment in Korea to have an elevator installed. To help people who didn't know how to use the elevator, as many as 98 elevator attendants worked there," piquing curiosity.
Contrasting with its retro-looking exterior, the interior of the listing boasts a fully remodeled, sleek and neat design. The three praised the green view visible from the high-ceilinged, spacious living room. Kim Dae-ho introduced a special space unique to this apartment, saying that at the time of construction it was a place for storing jangdokdae jars, but now it is used as a personal storage area or flower bed.
Meanwhile, when Hong Seok-cheon showed attention and affection only to Younghoon during the tour, Kim Dae-ho expressed disappointment, drawing attention. Jealous and critical, Kim Dae-ho pointed out Younghoon's behavior and turned into "Kkondae-ho," prompting jeers from the studio stylists. Hong Seok-cheon then said, "Kim Dae-ho was my jewelry box when he was a newcomer. After he appeared on Home Alone, he fell out of the jewelry box," provoking laughter.
