SEVENTEEN member Hoshi once again contributed to building educational infrastructure for children and adolescents.
Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest Northern Business Headquarters (hereinafter Gyeonggi Northern Fruit of Love) said on the 16th that Hoshi recently donated 10 million won. The donation will be used to build and remodel classrooms at Endola Mansansa Public School in Zambia.
Mansansa Public School is a place where about 350 students attend from kindergarten through 7th grade, and until now only 2 classrooms had been operating. Hoshi and his parents decided to build and donate two buildings with five classrooms so that students can pursue their dreams in a more stable educational environment. Last year he also gave 10 million won to Gyeonggi Northern Fruit of Love to support facility improvements at Luang Prabang Goa School in Laos.
Hoshi said, "I want to give a little strength and encouragement to growing children," and added, "I hope children can more healthily pursue their dreams in the newly built classrooms."
Since his debut Hoshi has consistently practiced sharing and shown a positive influence. In 2021 he donated 10 million won and joined the Fruit of Love Honor Society (a group of individual major donors of 10 million won or more), and he has actively participated in donations for recovery from various disasters and for disadvantaged groups and children and adolescents in local communities. SEVENTEEN, the group he belongs to, was also appointed UNESCO youth goodwill ambassadors as the first K-pop artist and led social contribution activities such as raising a fund worth $1 million for youth worldwide.
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN's Hoshi entered a basic training center on the 16th and will continue to serve as an active-duty soldier in the army after completing basic military training.
