The producer of 'Crime Scene Zero' mentioned hoped-for guests for the next season.
On the 16th at the Ramada Hotel in Sindorim, Guro-gu, Seoul, a production press conference for Netflix variety show 'Crime Scene Zero' was held. The event was attended by producers Yoon Hyun-jun and Hwang Seul-woo, Jang Jin, Park Ji-yoon, Jang Dong-min, Kim Ji-hoon and Ahn Yoo-jin.
'Crime Scene Zero,' which will be released on Sep. 23 (Tue), is a legendary role-playing mystery game in which players who become suspects and detectives find the criminal hiding among them. As it makes its debut to global viewers, it promises a new season faithful to the fun and essence of the cases, making the return of the legendary mystery variety show even more anticipated.
In particular, this season revived the guest invitation system that existed in the 'Crime Scene' series. Regarding this, producer Yoon Hyun-jun said, "There are pros and cons to having guests or not. Last season 'Crime Scene Returns' didn't have [guests], because at the time three of them were participating for the first time. So if guests also came, it felt like it would be overwhelming."
He added, "For this season, in line with the intention to return to basics, we really have players we can trust, so we felt we needed guests who could create a new feeling. The most important thing is that we also have to compete against the players. Everyone has strong instincts, so we needed a presence that could blur that. Because it was the guests' first time, we cast them. But they all love 'Crime Scene' and they did much better than expected. So this season was difficult, but it will be all the more fun because of that," he said.
He also spoke about guests he would like to invite for the next season. Producer Yoon said, "Five guests came this season, and it's such a shame. They said they think they could do well if we do it one more time. It leaves a regret after just one time. If there are characters among them who fit, I'd like to invite them next time."
He went on, "A figure that came up in our internal meetings was actor Park Jung-min. It turned out he is director Jang Jin's kid. If you think about character play, Lee Su-ji. Also, I personally fell for the 'The Man from Nowhere' (Choi Dae-hoon) after hearing his Baeksang Awards remarks. If there's a fitting character, why not invite them?"
