Broadcaster Kim Byung-man revealed the child he had with his fiancée ahead of their remarriage.
On 15th, Kim Byung-man appeared on TV Chosun's entertainment show "Lovers of Joseon" and went on his first-ever outing with his second son, revealing his sincere feelings as a father.
Kim Byung-man said, "I wanted to have this kind of time. I usually only went out with my wife, so this first outing with my son is more meaningful," and added, "I don't have many memories with my father from when I was young, so I want to travel a lot with my children going forward. Before, I was cautious and hid because of how others might look at us, but now I've decided not to hide and to be open." When the production staff said, "You look happy when you introduce him as your son," Kim laughed and said, "Of course—he's my blood."
On this broadcast, Kim Byung-man said, "Because of others' eyes and misunderstandings, I felt a great regret that I had to hide my children. But now I've changed my mind and will openly introduce my family and communicate." He added, "My first child had a sports day at kindergarten. Everyone was running with their dads, and our kid said, 'Why don't I have a dad?' When we got home, the child asked, 'Why didn't you come?' and I felt so sorry."
Kim Byung-man married a non-celebrity woman seven years his senior in 2010, but after a long separation, they divorced in 2023. During the process, he finalized the procedures to rescind the adoption of his ex-wife's daughter, who had been adopted as a child of full adoption, severing their legal father-daughter relationship.
He has now completed the marriage registration with his fiancée and is set to marry on 20th. The children who had been born out of wedlock were also registered in the family registry. The two are scheduled to hold their wedding on 20th at Sebitseom in Seoul.
