The group Monsta X (MONSTA X) completed full-group comeback activities for the first time in five years.
Monsta X (Shownu·Minhyuk·Kihyun·Hyungwon·Jooheon·IM) wrapped up promotions for their new mini album The X (THE X) with the SBS music show Inkigayo broadcast on the 14th. Ending their military hiatus and returning to music show stages, the six members announced the return of the "faith-listen-watch performance" group with the title track N the Front (N the Front), proving their presence.
This comeback was a symbolic milestone for Monsta X as they marked their 10th anniversary since debut. Given its special meaning, they opened with a dazzling prologue in the pre-release track Do What I Want (Do What I Want), which Jooheon participated in as lyricist and composer and IM participated in as lyricist, and they made the team's identity even clearer with the mini album The X (THE X) released on the 1st.
The album featured contributions from the group's main producing members Hyungwon, Jooheon and IM, proving their status as a "self-producing group." In the title track N the Front, the vocal and rap lines boldly crossed each other's positions to reveal a wide musical spectrum, and with powerful performances they declared the Monsta X stance of "facing forward with no retreat" to the K-pop scene. Hyungwon also added listening pleasure by releasing a remix digital single N the Front (H.ONE Remix) as his alter ego DJ H.ONE.
The members also delighted fans by performing energetically outside music shows. Shownu solidified his presence as a fixed MC on the web variety show Nopogi, and the members appeared in various content including Mnet's National Sparkling Tour, web variety shows Limousine Service, Babsahyo, Jipdaeseong, Business Trip! Lee Saebae, and Sangsu-dong studio, showcasing not only musical ability but also the witty talk and sense befitting "variety show guarantors," delivering diverse charms.
In particular, Jooheon, who recently showed off exceptional variety skills with the Monsta X-style "pony game" on their original content Mon Meok-eodo Go, has raised expectations by being selected as the sole MC of the web variety show Good Errand Center - Simcheong, which will be released in October.
Moreover, Monsta X recorded their highest first-week sales in their career with this album, demonstrating not only the maturity that comes with 10 years since debut but also momentum in the present. With teamwork and performances that shone more than ever, expectations for the next steps of the "complete Monsta X" have intensified, and the members shared their feelings on completing activities through their agency Starship Entertainment (Starship Entertainment).
