Actor Kim Young-dae talked about his portrayal of a "former singer."
On the 16th at MBC in Sangam, Mapo-gu, Seoul, a production press conference was held for MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama Go to the Moon. The event was attended by Lee Sun-bin, Ra Mi-ran, Jo A-ram, actor Kim Young-dae and director Oh Da-young.
MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama Go to the Moon, which premieres on the 19th (written by Na Yoon-chae, directed by Oh Da-young and Jung Hoon), depicts a hyperrealistic survival story about three women from poor backgrounds who, unable to survive on wages alone, dive into coin investment.
Kim Young-dae plays Ham Ji-woo, a former singer and director of the big data task force. About preparing for the character, he explained, "Ham Ji-woo's current position is the youngest director. His previous job was as a failed indie singer. He was a friend who did the music he liked, and when I took on that role, I basically thought this guy could play instruments."
He continued, "So I picked up the guitar again, but there was a scene where he plays the drums. So I also practiced the drums separately and went to record. I'm not particularly outstanding at singing," showing humility.
Then Lee Sun-bin said, "After hearing Young-dae's voice and singing this time, I realized for sure. I lose to Young-dae in every way. Looks, singing ability. In many aspects." She added, "His singing was really good and enhanced the scenes. Young-dae's voice is also woven into the OSTs that played. There are many good songs. I think they will be good highlights," drawing laughter.
Ra Mi-ran also said, "I haven't heard the full official version of (Kim Young-dae's song), but Sun-bin listened and had to sing it. I heard that the song is so good and that he does it well," adding, "It seems like he's aiming for the music charts. Trying to go to the MAMA Awards," which added to the laughter.
In particular, Kim Young-dae spoke about a dream he currently has: "When I was in school I liked singing and wanted to try a band, and now that it has come true here. Once I tried it, it was fun," adding, "If I could dare to release it, with the help of many people it would be great. I would like to gain experience and try if possible. I wonder how it would be to stand on such a stage again," showing his dream of releasing music and drawing attention.
