The new boy group IDID, born through Starship's large-scale project 'Debut's Plan', previewed its rise as a "high-end charm idol" encompassing the "high-end refreshing idol" through the debut showcase for their first mini album I did it.
IDID (IDID·Jang Yonghun, Kim Minjae, Park Wonbin, Chu Yuchan, Park Sunghyun, Baek Junhyuk, Jeong Semin) held a fan showcase I did it at 8 p.m. on the 15th at YES24 Live Hall in Gwangjin District, Seoul. Meeting global K-pop fans for the first time as IDID, the members showcased the team's and their individual charms, presented a variety of highly polished performances, and proved themselves to be skilled mega rookies.
They opened the debut showcase with the performance of "ImPerfect." The event was richly filled with talks, from the segment IDID.ZIP, which introduced everything about IDID, to the corner where members casually showcased their own styles, "The splendid moment of IDID as it pleases itself." There were performances of the pre-debut song "STEP IT UP," viewing and performance of the music video for the title track "The splendidly as it pleases itself," "So G.oo.D (I like you to madness)," "STICKY BOMB," and the finale prepared especially for fans, "Flowering CROWN," plus an impromptu challenge — about 90 minutes that truly rewarded fans who had been eagerly awaiting IDID's debut.
IDID's debut album I did it is an album that carries the message that you can be cool even if you're not perfect, and the title track "The splendidly as it pleases itself" expresses IDID's direction with lyrics like "Yes, splendidly my way, that's our charm." The members shared behind-the-scenes stories and episodes from the album's production to deepen fans' understanding of their musical world. After taking a group photo commemorating Sept. 15, a special day for the members and fans, IDID expressed the group's bold ambitions and asked for much love and support. Even after all the segments ended, fans called for an encore and cheered on IDID's radiant path.
Also, the music video for "The splendidly as it pleases itself," released on IDID's official channel at 6 p.m. that day, was filled with a youthful drama-like feeling focusing on the members' fleeting emotions and the mood of the moment.
Through this music video, which captures a summer day of the members laughing, chatting and splashing water while playing, viewers can feel IDID's refreshing charm as the members' delightfully splendid moments are conveyed simply by being together. Fans who saw the music video showered praise such as "Fresh and lively concept, love it," "Vocals, dance, visuals, rap — every part is so cool and beautiful," and "Let's shine splendidly our way!," expressing high expectations for IDID's debut and successful activities.
IDID is a "complete idol" selected by Starship, the "house of artists," through the large-scale project 'Debut's Plan,' recognized for outstanding skills in dance, singing, fan communication and expressiveness. Having accumulated various experiences as idols before their official debut — including live broadcast competitions, special stages, pre-debut activities and global stages — expectations are growing over whether IDID will make waves in the fifth-generation idol market.
Meanwhile, IDID will present its debut stages on various music programs starting with Mnet's M Countdown on the 18th, KBS 2TV's Music Bank on the 19th, MBC's Show! Music Core on the 20th, and SBS's Inkigayo on the 21st. In addition, from the 18th to Oct. 1, they will open a debut commemorative pop-up store at Photoism Play in Mangwon-dong, Mapo District, Seoul, continuing their debut activities.
