Starship Entertainment's new boy group IDID, the first in five years, has officially thrown down the gauntlet in the music scene. Noted for their fresh charm even before debut, they showcase their own color that "makes even imperfection brilliant" through this album.
IDID released all tracks from their first mini album I did it. and the music video for the title track "Live brilliantly my way" at 6 p.m. on the 15th on various music sites.
The seven-member rookie boy group IDID, ambitiously launched by Starship Entertainment, finalized their debut through the global project Debut's Plan and consists of Jang Yong-hoon, Kim Min-jae, Park Won-bin, Chu Yoo-chan, Park Sung-hyun, Baek Jun-hyuk and Jung Se-min. The seven members, with an average age of 18, position themselves as the one and only "high-end fresh" group, wielding pleasant energy as their weapon.
Having begun pre-debut activities in July with the included track STEP IT UP and made their presence known, IDID will use this album to fully unfold their story by capturing the free-spirited youth of teenage boys.
IDID's debut album I did it. is a work that embodies the conviction that "you can be cool even if you're not perfect" and an attitude that makes imperfection brilliant. It preserves the members' unrefined emotions and energy as they are, completing an album that distinctly imprints IDID's identity.
Eight tracks, including the title song "Live brilliantly my way," are included, and different moments of emotion come together to form a single flow, expressing youth as it is through music.
In particular, the title song "Live brilliantly my way" expresses the free and positive sensibility of youth. Backed by an upbeat sound led by acoustic guitar and rhythmic drums and matched with the members' refreshing vocals, it energetically depicts moments of living one's own way without being bound by conventions.
Just feel the flow / Live brilliantly my way (Feel the flow) / Sometimes I'm crooked / Sometimes I may seem clumsy, so what? (Ah yeah) / I let myself go with the passing breeze / An uncontrollably free feelin' / Yeah, I'm brilliantly my way / That's our charm Oh yeah, the lyrics make the boys' message clear. Freedom, honesty, and the light that blooms from imperfection are IDID's charms.
The released music video captures the seven boys' fleeting emotions and moods. Scenes of them sitting on the floor laughing foolishly, shouting as they run, and splashing water on each other as they enjoy a summer day unfold cheerfully, brightening viewers' hearts.
Through this album, IDID is expected to unfold their own youth narrative and solidify the title of "high-end fresh" group. With global fandom expectations resting on them from right after debut, attention is focused on what achievements this confident first greeting will lead to.
