Actor Lee Pil-mo confessed to having campus couple (CC) experiences during college.
On the 15th episode of Channel A's 'Close Friend Tocumentary - Four-Person Dining Table', Park Kyung-rim, Lee Jong-hyuk and Kim Min-kyo visited the home of Lee Pil-mo and Seo Soo-yeon.
That day Park Kyung-rim asked the three, who were classmates from the Department of Theater at Seoul Institute of the Arts in the class of '93, "Besides the three of you, do you have any other classmates?" and Kim Min-kyo said, "Many. Many who did well. Our classmates are Kim Soo-ro hyung, Jung Sung-hwa, Ra Mi-ran, Lim Hyung-joon. Quite a few," Park Kyung-rim wondered, "It must have been fun when you were in school," and Lee Pil-mo honestly confessed, "When I entered school I felt like I had to retake the entrance exam. I saw someone with a ponytail. Someone with six piercings in each ear. People who had cut their hair short after graduating high school—there was a huge gap. I thought, do I have to go to school with people like this? It felt like I didn't belong here. I felt like I shouldn't be here."
He said, "Jong-hyuk gave off a very nice honor student vibe. He also had a shoujo manga feel. Min-kyo's current girlfriend might be around his 10th girlfriend? That kind of feeling. He's short but agile and lively. He matched well with his girlfriend. At the time I couldn't call the female students by name. It wouldn't do. When they called Mi-ran they would say 'ya Ra Mi-ran.' I couldn't say 'Mi-ran-ah.' My hair stood on end. It wouldn't do."
Lee Jong-hyuk recalled, "We came from an all-boys school. What shocked me was that seniors hugged saying 'Hi, Kyung-rim,'" and Lee Pil-mo confessed, "I couldn't breathe at that moment." Lee Jong-hyuk added, "At most I would hold hands during prayer at church," but Kim Min-kyo shared, "I put my arm around her waist then," showing his exceptional sociability.
Especially, Park Kyung-rim drew attention by opening with, "According to what I've heard, the two of you were in a love triangle.." To this, Lee Jong-hyuk suddenly mentioned a real name, saying, "OO?", provoking laughter.
Lee Pil-mo said, "Back then, dating wasn't done through procedures; the guy acted manly, grabbed the wrist and said, 'From today we're CC.' But the response was lukewarm. We never ate together. We had coffee twice. Still, I always waited until the end to take her home, and at the front of her house she'd take the subway home. I called that friend even while in the military. I called until just before discharge. Over time it became a memory," and he added the later story, "Many years passed. Min-kyo said to me, 'I don't know if I should say this, but I was dating her.'"
Kim Min-kyo explained, "I thought I was dating her. Because I also took her home similarly. Then suddenly Pil-mo said he liked her. Then seeing her being taken home, I thought she must be following the handsome guy. I tilted my head and quietly stepped back."
Hearing this, Lee Jong-hyuk asked, "Isn't your wife watching on CCTV here? She can hear the sound, right?" A flustered Lee Pil-mo emphasized, "I was really platonic with that friend," which caused uproarious laughter.
