Kim Jong-kook, who became a hot topic on 'My Ugly Duckling' for his "007 wedding," revealed his criteria for selecting wedding guests.
On the 14th, the SBS variety show My Ugly Duckling (hereinafter My Ugly Duckling) aired a segment showing Kim Jong-kook, who recently held a secret wedding, candidly discussing his criteria for inviting guests.
During the conversation that day, Kim Hee-chul asked, "Why didn't you invite the My Ugly Duckling team to the wedding?" To this, Kim Jong-kook said, "If I had made it big, I would have invited them, of course. The same goes for Dong-hyun," adding, "We kept the wedding very small. The bride's side had 50 people, and I had 50, so we prepared exactly 100 seats." He then confessed, "Actually, even with just family and relatives, the seats are full."
Asked how he selected guests, Kim Jong-kook answered, "I only invited people I see at least once a week, or those I see every two or three days, or almost daily contacts." He added, "I also invited the gym manager. He's someone I see almost every day," explaining his standard.
Kim Hee-chul said, "If I get married, of course I'll invite Super Junior members," adding, "But I'm not sure if I'll invite all the members of Knowing Bros. I think Hyodong hyung would understand, but Seo Jang-hoon might get sulky. I do keep in touch with him a lot personally," drawing laughter.
Kim Jong-kook replied, "That's why I invited Seo Jang-hoon hyung. We're very close and we contact each other often," showing their friendship. He continued, "I invited Shin Dong-yup hyung because my mother insisted he must be invited. I asked Dong-yup hyung to represent My Ugly Duckling," he added. Kim Hee-chul showed some slight disappointment, but Kim Jong-kook playfully brushed it off, saying, "Seo Jang-hoon hyung is someone I knew from when I was young, regardless of My Ugly Duckling. I haven't finalized all the seats yet," which brought laughter.
Meanwhile, Kim Jong-kook held a wedding with a non-celebrity woman on Sept. 5. With security strictly maintained, it was dubbed a "007 wedding."
