Singer Kim Jong-kook drew attention after moving into his new marital home by installing exercise equipment himself in the shared gym.
On the 14th episode of SBS variety show Miunuri Saekki, Kim Jong-kook spoke candidly about his recent marriage and life in his new marital home. Kim Jong-kook married a non-celebrity woman on Sept. 5 and is reported to have set up his new household after buying a luxury villa in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul, valued at 6.2 billion won, paid entirely in cash.
On the show, Kim Hee-chul joked, "No one has seen the sister-in-law, is this maybe a lie?" and added, "There's even a rumor she married an AI." Kim Jong-kook laughed and said, "No, I really did get married," and about plans for children he said, "Considering my age, we'll do it soon, thinking of just one. I'd be grateful if a healthy child is born."
Kim Jong-kook also surprised viewers by revealing that he moved all his personal exercise equipment into the complex's shared gym. He said, "In the previous house I filled the rooms and living room with exercise equipment, but now I installed it all in the shared gym," and boasted, "Our gym became really great." When Kim Hee-chul said, "The residents must be completely happy," Kim Jong-kook proudly replied, "The elders even came to thank me personally."
Meanwhile, Kim Jong-kook directly addressed various rumors circulating about his wife. He said, "My wife has nothing to do with exercise. The stories online saying she is 'from LA,' a 'cosmetics CEO,' or the 'daughter of an English instructor' are all false," and emphasized, "Everything except the gender is fake; only the marriage news I revealed myself is real."
Viewers reacted to Kim Jong-kook's efforts to practice his exceptional love for exercise even in shared spaces with comments like, "As expected of the gym evangelist."
