A broadcaster, Choi Eun-kyung, who suddenly left Dongchimi after hosting it for a long time, looked back on the time.
On the 14th, the TV CHOSUN program Gourmet Heo Young-man's Baekban Journey aired, showing former announcer and broadcaster Choi Eun-kyung meeting Heo Young-man and visiting famous restaurants in Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do to talk.
During the broadcast, while waiting for the food, Heo Young-man asked Choi Eun-kyung, "You haven't been appearing on Dongchimi lately." Choi Eun-kyung replied, "I don't do that," and said, "You can say my 40s all went there. I really worked hard. So I have zero regrets."
In particular, Choi Eun-kyung said, "When a person works too hard, isn't there that thing? I just said, 'Applaud, praise myself,'" and explained, "The pace of life for 10 years was too fast. So I felt it was impossible to continue, and now I only do my YouTube."
Choi Eun-kyung was chosen as MC of MBN's Sokpulishow Dongchimi in 2012 and hosted it for 13 years but left in March. Dongchimi, which first aired in Nov. 2012, featured Park Soo-hong and Choi Eun-kyung as MCs while Park Soo-hong was hosting MBC's Happy Time!, and the show continued for 13 years, becoming a long-running program.
But the production team notified Park Soo-hong and Choi Eun-kyung of their removal, citing program reorganization. There was a rationale that it was part of a reorganization marking the 30th anniversary of the network's launch, but it was a disappointing end given that Park Soo-hong and Choi Eun-kyung were 'founding contributors' to the network. The sudden final farewell added regret because Park Soo-hong and Choi Eun-kyung were unable to deliver a proper farewell.
Kim Yong-man, Lee Hyun-yi, and Enoch are serving as Dongchimi MCs, but negative views have continued regarding the MC changes, especially after Enoch's recent departure.
Meanwhile, Choi Eun-kyung said, "I have no regrets proportional to how hard I worked," and her demeanor in maintaining respect for the program and the broadcaster as the former MC is receiving even more support.
