The wife of former short-track national team member Kim Dong-sung, In Min-jung, once again promised to pay child support.
In Min-jung took to her social media on the 14th and said, "I previously made a promise, so this time I would like to speak about the lawsuit," beginning her post.
She said, "Last year I sued my ex-wife, A, for defamation, but a suspension of prosecution was recently issued," and "the police judged that A's media interview at the time was 'hard to see as intentionally false,' but they viewed the listing on Bad Fathers and the media interview as private sanctions and referred the case to the prosecution. This suspension of prosecution was because the charge was acknowledged but various circumstances were considered."
In Min-jung continued, "After the lawsuit was reported again in an exclusive article last August, my husband Kim Dong-sung and I were told at the construction site day labor where we had been making a living that 'you no longer need to come to work,'" and "I even took out private loans in my name to send money, and we had my husband's bank account seized and red notices put on our house," she revealed.
Yet she stressed, "Even amid all of this, my promise that I will definitely send all child support even after the children become adults has not changed," and "the past and present remorse that was lacking is the responsibility of the adults, including Kim Dong-sung, and I will take responsibility for the children to the end."
She added, "After being fired, I circulated resumes for about a month, and since last Monday I have barely been returning to work as a day laborer at a construction site," and asked, "Please look upon this matter with understanding."
Meanwhile, Kim Dong-sung married a non-celebrity woman in 2004 and had a son and a daughter, but they divorced in 2018. He later registered his marriage to In Min-jung in May 2021.
