Actor Oh In-hye has been gone for five years. Although she gained attention for revealing images, her sudden departure, after showing more passion and diverse talent as an actor than anyone else, still leaves deep longing in the hearts of many fans and colleagues.
Oh In-hye was found dead at her home in Incheon on the morning of Sept. 14, 2021. She was in cardiac arrest at the time and seemed briefly to regain a pulse and breathing, but in the end did not open her eyes. She was 37.
Her last social media post was on Sept. 12, two days before her death, a message sharing her daily life with fans. Oh In-hye casually communicated with fans by posting a bright selfie along with the words, 오랜만에 주말 서울 데이트. 출바알~ 모두 굿주말. But two days later she suddenly passed away.
Oh In-hye made her screen debut in 2011 in the late director Park Cheol-su's film 'Red Vacation, Black Wedding.' At the time she appeared on the Busan International Film Festival red carpet wearing a shocking revealing dress, turning online and offline coverage upside down.
At the time she told OSEN in an interview, "Honestly, I wore it meaning 'please look at me.' I was thirsty for acting. You have to know me to call me, right?" and coolly added, "I hope people see this desire more kindly than the revealingness."
The following year she appeared on SBS's 'Strong Heart' and said, "After I wore the dress, my father had a drink during the day and called. His first words were, 'It was bold but you did well, you worked hard.' After I wore the revealing dress, I was more upset about malicious comments about my parents than about me."
Without an agency, Oh In-hye prepared her own styling. Thanks to that, she imprinted her three-syllable name on the public and continued her work, but she also tried hard to shake off the label of being an actress known for revealing images.
In 2012 she worked to show a varied acting spectrum beyond simple revealing images in several productions, including the MBC drama 'Ma-ui', 'A Walk Through the Master Class', 'Daily Life Life', 'Wish Taxi', 'No Breathing', 'Design', and 'Drama Special - Return - Fire Mouse Game'.
She also built diverse talents by working in fields such as floristry and scuba diving. In the web entertainment show 'Oh In-hye's Shh!cret' and on her YouTube channel opened in July 2019, 'Oh~Inhyerous Life!', she actively communicated with fans and showcased her personality and talents.
But not long after, she left those she loved and became a star in the sky. Five years have passed since she ended her life, yet many still remember her name.
