HYBE Global Group &TEAM's Uiju and Maki will take the mound at Jamsil Stadium.
YX Labels said on the 14th, "Uiju and Maki will serve as the ceremonial pitcher and batter, respectively, at the Doosan Bears vs. Kiwoom Heroes game to be held on Oct. 16 at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Songpa District, Seoul."
Uiju told YX Labels, "As a Doosan Bears fan, I'm honored to throw the ceremonial first pitch. I will send energetic support so the players can put on a great game without injuries," she said. Maki also said, "I'm happy to appear as the ceremonial batter alongside older brother Uiju. I'll do my best to be a fairy of victory."
The two are busy practicing the ceremonial pitches and batting to convey their cheering energy and give fans visiting the stadium an unforgettable moment.
&TEAM is a boy group that debuted in Japan in 2022 with full support from HYBE chairman Bang Si-hyuk. Their third single released this year, "Go in Blind," topped the Oricon daily and weekly charts and earned a "million" certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan. Recently, they sold out their solo concert at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Seoul, proving their strong popularity in Korea as well.
This ceremonial pitch and batting event is a meaningful occasion for &TEAM to meet domestic fans ahead of their official Korean debut. &TEAM will release mini album 1 "Back to Life" on Oct. 28 and begin full-scale activities in Korea. They plan to expand their stage globally from Korea, the home base of K-pop, and continue their path as a "global group."
