Actor the late Oh In-hye marks the fifth anniversary of her death.
On the morning of Sept. 14, 2020, Oh In-hye was found in cardiac arrest at her home in Songdo International City, Yeonsu District, Incheon, and was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital emergency room after a friend reported it. During emergency treatment her pulse and breathing returned, raising hopes.
When the news became known, fans flooded Oh In-hye's social media with supportive comments. Because she had shared bright everyday moments with fans as recently as two days before her death, many prayed for a speedy recovery and a stronger return to daily life.
But Oh In-hye ultimately did not open her eyes. She was 36. Regarding Oh In-hye's death, the Incheon Yeonsu Police Station said, "According to the autopsy, the preliminary oral opinion from the National Forensic Service was that the death was due to an intentional act of self-harm." Accordingly, the police judged there were no criminal charges and closed the investigation.
Oh In-hye, who debuted in the 2011 film Our Neighbor's Crime, appeared in films such as Red Vacation Black Wedding, Walk of the Master Class, and Wish Taxi. She rocketed to stardom in 2011 at the Busan International Film Festival red carpet event when she wore a daring dress with a high level of exposure.
After her contract with her agency expired, the late Oh In-hye worked alone as a florist and YouTuber and continued to communicate regularly with fans. Because she continued to post videos and interact with fans up to just two days before her death, her passing was especially heartbreaking.
In particular, before she died, Oh In-hye last posted on social media, "It's all my fault. I really hate blaming others, so I rather blame myself," and wrote, "A mass of contradictions, it's really hard and miserable to give the heart rather than money."
She also posted, "You must be watching, right? The person who described me as just a body. Until the end he said it wasn't wording he could use and left me until the end. Why ask to be understood with those three words, 'I love you'? This is a crime. I think I should show it. He should be punished. Apparently an arrogant person has no other way. I'm sad too," the post added. However, it was reported that this post was deleted the same day it was published.
