Actor Lee Young-ae frankly revealed on Immortal Songs that she had felt she was pretty since she was 6 years old.
On the Jan. 13 broadcast of KBS2's Immortal Songs–Actor Lee Young-ae, immortal masterpieces, Lee Young-ae's daily life as a parent of twin siblings was shown.
Lee Young-ae, describing the moment she realized her own beauty, said, "When I was about 6, some foreigners stopped me on the street. I don't know if it was because I was pretty," and smiled modestly. She added, "When I was in third grade, I once modeled for a study guide," recounting an early moment when she felt her looks.
Her life as a practical mother was also shown. She said, "I usually don't dress up, so I go about casually, but my daughter once looked me over from head to toe and nagged, 'Are you going out like that?' and made me go to the hair salon," drawing laughter. About her appearance at parents' gatherings, she said, "I try harder so I don't make others feel burdened. I often pay for the meal or try to be approachable," revealing a down-to-earth charm.
Previously, Lee Young-ae had said on the show that her daughter had inherited her talent and was going to idol auditions.
She also revealed her skincare secrets. Lee Young-ae said, "Doing everything in moderation is important. That goes for exercise, diet and stress management," and shared her tip: "When washing my face, I wipe from bottom to top for a lifting effect."
Lee Young-ae appeared on Immortal Songs for the first time since her debut, and she displayed a pleasant charm as she interacted with six teams of artists and the panel judging the songs.
Meanwhile, Lee Young-ae married a businessman in 2009 and has twin children. She returns to drama after four years, acting alongside Kim Young-kwang in the KBS weekend drama Walking On Thin Ice, which premieres on Jan. 20. In the series she plays Kang Eun-su, a parent determined to protect her family, marking another acting transformation.
