On the April 14 broadcast of SBS variety show My Little Old Boy (hereafter My Little Old Boy), Kim Jong-kook addressed the wife rumor.
That day, amid news of Kim Jong-kook's marriage, he did not scold Kim Hee-chul even after seeing him use wet wipes. When Kim Hee-chul said, "I won't say anything now about using a lot of wet wipes," Kim Jong-kook said, "Now you should know how to pretend not to see these things; I'm trying to prepare myself," and added, "But don't throw them away—if you use them, fold them and leave them; if they drip, you can use them again," drawing laughter.
When Kim Hee-chul asked, "What if someone you love throws them away?" Kim Jong-kook replied, "You shouldn't. That's different," and Kim Dong-hyun agreed, saying, "You'll adapt as you live together." Then Kim Hee-chul mentioned the rumor, saying, "Isn't she someone you met at the gym?" and also said, "There are stories that she is a daughter of a CEO from LA or an English instructor." Kim Jong-kook corrected it, saying, "My wife has nothing to do with exercise; I'll speak precisely," and added, "I won't say other things, but the articles that pop up on the internet are not all true."
Also that day, Kim Jong-kook said, "Married guys are calling a lot to tease me, saying your life is over," and asked Kim Dong-hyun, "Don't you think about going back to being single?" Kim Dong-hyun answered, "It's incomparably better," and "Not at all." He also said, "Before marriage we fought a lot over trivial things." When Kim Jong-kook asked, "Are you happy?" Kim Dong-hyun laughed and said, "I'm happy."
