Actress Son Ye-jin spoke about her daily life changing after giving birth to her son.
On the 12th, a new video titled "This year's No. 1 movie you have to see" was released on the YouTube channel Channel Sibo-ya. The video featured producer Na Young-seok and director Park Chan-wook of No Other Choice, Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min and Yeom Hye-ran appearing and talking.
Son Ye-jin married actor Hyun Bin and is set to return after three years since giving birth to a son with No Other Choice. Son Ye-jin explained how she came to receive the script, saying, "When I first read the script, Director Park Chan-wook was the one giving the script. So I had to do my first work after marriage, and Min-jung is close to me."
She said, "(Min-jung) asked, 'Ye-jin, what does your schedule look like?' I said, 'I don't have anything scheduled yet,' and she said, 'Director Park Chan-wook is doing something with oppa and thought of you and will give you the script.' I thought, 'It's here.'"
Son Ye-jin said, "Directors want to work with any actor. And when a senior said they were doing it, I thought, 'It's here,' and I read the script. But what role am I? It was that insignificant in terms of weight," she lamented.
Director Park Chan-wook mentioned something he heard from Son Ye-jin at the time, saying, "I went in prepared for the thought that she might refuse. But what I found so impressive was, 'After the film is released, please make sure my friends don't just ask, "Why did you do that?"'"
Son Ye-jin added, "I kind of threatened the director," and Park Chan-wook said, "To keep that promise I kept rewriting the script, and you have no idea how much care went into the editing. I can say I'm really confident about this one issue."
Producer Na Young-seok said, "I recently returned from filming in Mexico," and asked Director Park Chan-wook, "You like traveling, right?" Director Park firmly answered, "No," and Na Young-seok said, "What a twist. I thought you loved it."
Producer Na Young-seok also asked Park Hee-soon but did not get much of a reaction, and then asked, "Is everyone here a homebody? Is there no one who likes going out?"
Son Ye-jin admitted, "But I really love traveling," adding, "I love it. I absolutely have to go, but now that I have a baby I can't go." Na Young-seok sympathized, saying, "It's hard. Now you have a family," and Son Ye-jin expressed regret, "That's right. I absolutely have to go when a project ends, but now that's..."
