Walking On Thin Ice released behind-the-scenes photos from the set showing a coexistence of fiery passion and laughter one week before its first broadcast.
The new KBS 2TV weekend miniseries Walking On Thin Ice (written by Jeon Young-shin, directed by Song Hyun-wook), set to premiere on the 20th, is a work that depicts the dangerous and desperate partnership log between Kang Eun-su (played by Lee Young-ae), a parent who wants to protect her family, and Lee Kyung (played by Kim Young-kwang), a two-faced teacher, who get involved over a drug-filled bag they happen to obtain. One week before the first broadcast, the passionate on-set images of Lee Young-ae (as Kang Eun-su), Kim Young-kwang (as Lee Kyung), and Park Yong-woo (as Jang Tae-gu), who are tightly united by their passion and affection for the work, are raising expectations among prospective viewers.
In the released photos, Lee Young-ae lights up the set with a bright smile and plays the role of the mood maker on set, and she also demonstrates the true value of a trusted actor by meticulously monitoring the script and blocking alongside director Song Hyun-wook. Her passion to complete Eun-su's complex inner world, driven from an ordinary housewife to the edge between good and evil in the drama, is fully captured.
Kim Young-kwang warmed the set with his handsome looks and his characteristic relaxed smile. With an aura that looks like a photo shoot even when he is just standing, he caught attention and boosted energy by chatting with fellow actors even while waiting to shoot.
Park Yong-woo, who plays Jang Tae-gu, head of the drug investigation team at Gwangnam Police Station, demonstrated intense concentration on set and fully immersed himself in the character. From the rehearsal stage, his serious approach to each scene without missing the flow of emotion shows the depth of a veteran actor.
In addition, images were released of actors and production staff sharing scripts and matching scenes together, and of them keeping their focus and burning with passion despite the cold, further raising expectations for the work.
The production team said Walking On Thin Ice raised the work's completeness by 200% through the synergy created by the actors' intense immersion and mutual trust, and asked for much anticipation, noting that the solid teamwork on set will appear even more powerfully in the drama.
Walking On Thin Ice, considered a highly anticipated work for this fall, will premiere at 9:20 p.m. on the 20th.
