HYBE and Geffen Records' global girl group KATSEYE's popularity is blazing. Their song "Gabriela" continues to rise steadily on the U.K. Official Charts and Spotify even in its 12th week since release, while soaring close to its own highest ranking.
According to the U.K. Official Charts released on the 12th (local time), KATSEYE's second EP "BEAUTIFUL CHAOS" track "Gabriela" placed 45th on the Official Singles Top 100 (Sept. 12-18). After delivering an impressive performance at the U.S.'s largest music festival, Lollapalooza Chicago, in early August, they struck social media and re-entered the chart, showing a steep rise for six consecutive weeks. It is their 10th week on the chart. It is also a result that closely approached the chart team's highest position of 42. Their strength is evident in sustaining upward momentum even more than two months after release.
They also showed a rebound on Spotify, the world's largest music platform. On the latest weekly top songs global chart on Spotify (Sept. 5-11), "Gabriela" jumped a remarkable 12 spots from 28th the previous week to 16th. This too neared the track's highest position on that chart (15th). In addition to "Gabriela," "Gnarly" is at 82, marking its 19th consecutive week on the weekly top songs global chart, and "Touch" is at 169, marking its fifth consecutive week on the chart, resulting in three-song simultaneous success.
KATSEYE's monthly Spotify listeners have been steadily increasing. Their most recently compiled monthly Spotify listener count (Aug. 15–Sept. 11) is 29,469,082. During activities for the debut EP 'SIS (Soft Is Strong)', the monthly listener count was about 8.19 million (Aug. 15–Sept. 11, 2024), it surpassed 10 million earlier this year, and about a month ago it exceeded 25 million.
KATSEYE performed the preshow at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards at UBS Arena in New York on the 7th, eliciting sing-alongs and strong audience response. At the main ceremony they won the PUSH Performance of the Year award, earning their first MTV trophy. That publicity is analyzed to have reignited global fandom interest and positively affected their chart performance.
KATSEYE is a group realizing the "globalization of the K-pop system" led by HYBE chairman Bang Si-hyuk. They were finally selected through the global audition project The Debut: Dream Academy, which drew 120,000 applicants worldwide, and debuted in the U.S. last June based on HYBE America's training and development (T&D) system.
