Former figure skater Kim Yuna explained why she could not invite broadcaster Yoo Jae-suk to her wedding.
On the morning of the 13th, Kim Yuna appeared as a guest on Pinggego, which was released on the YouTube channel DdeunDdeun. Yoo Jae-suk met Kim Yuna along with Cho Sae-ho and Ji Seok-jin and talked with her.
Kim Yuna was the first female figure skater to achieve "all podiums" during her active career. Called "Queen Yuna," she was adored as the queen of figure skating and the nation's younger sister. Yoo Jae-suk, who watched Kim Yuna's performances on television and in sports since her childhood, was especially pleased by Kim Yuna's visit to Pinggego.
Yoo Jae-suk recalled, "It's already been two years since I saw her on 'You Quiz,'" referring to 2023 when he met Kim Yuna as a guest on the tvN variety show You Quiz on the Block that he hosts. Kim Yuna interjected, "That's right. It was before Woo-rim went to the military." Yoo Jae-suk said, "But now (Go Woo-rim) has been discharged and is even active," expressing a sense of the times changing.
He also recalled, "The first time I saw Yuna was when she was a teenager. I first saw her on Infinite Challenge." At that time Kim Yuna was a minor of 18. Yoo Jae-suk expressed strong fandom, saying, "Yuna may not know, but I've seen Yuna in her teens, in her 20s and even after she got married."
However, Yoo Jae-suk was not invited to Kim Yuna and Go Woo-rim's wedding. When Kim Yuna laughed awkwardly about it, Ji Seok-jin chimed in, "Why didn't you ask him to emcee?"
In October 2022, Kim Yuna married Go Woo-rim, a member of the crossover group Forestella. The master of ceremonies at the time was broadcaster Shin Dong-yup. Kim Yuna explained, "I worked with Shin Dong-yup on the old SBS variety show Kiss and Cry. Also, Woo-rim appeared often on KBS 2TV's Immortal Songs as part of Forestella, so he saw Shin Dong-yup a lot."
Yoo Jae-suk said in wonder, "That side has a story," and Ji Seok-jin made the audience laugh by saying, "Then it would be odd for Jae-suk to emcee out of the blue." Yoo Jae-suk emphasized, "It wouldn't be odd. If Yuna asked me to emcee, it wouldn't be odd at all," which drew more laughter.
Kim Yuna said, "Actually I agonized a lot over the wedding invitations. People say that's when relationships are settled, so I worried a lot. When I do something, I tend to see only a limited circle of people, so I realized I had far fewer contacts in my messenger than I thought. Not even 200."
When Ji Seok-jin playfully asked, "Did Jae-suk hesitate to invite you or not even think about it?", Kim Yuna expressed regret, "The definite criterion was whether I had the contact at the time. If either of us (Kim Yuna or Go Woo-rim) had the contact, we would have invited them."
Yoo Jae-suk joked, "From now on, please be sure to call me for family events," and added, "I'm the person who handles everything from a mother's 70th birthday to first birthdays," which made Kim Yuna burst out laughing. Cho Sae-ho proudly said, "I was a specialist master of ceremonies for first birthdays. I know the order of events; I don't need a script," which added more laughter.
