SHINee Key's status as a descendant of a national veteran was revealed.
In a preview for next week's episode of MBC variety show 'I Live Alone' aired on the 12th, Key was shown visiting the National Yeongcheon Memorial Cemetery.
On a rainy day, Key said, "Today I'm going to greet some rather special people," carrying luggage in both hands as he moved. He added, "This is the memorial cemetery in Yeongcheon, and it's the place where the grandfathers and grandmothers who fought in the June 25th War are. I haven't been here in a long time," revealing that he is a descendant of a national veteran.
At the National Yeongcheon Memorial Cemetery, Key approached his grandparents' gravestone and greeted them, saying, "Have you been well?" and softly remarked, "The rain stopped when I said I was coming to pay my respects."
In particular, Key said, "My grandmother's death anniversary and my birthday fall on the same day, so for about two to three years I even hated looking at cakes," adding, "But recently the meaning has changed a lot. Now I spend that day quietly remembering her."
Key also said, "To me, family means the confidence that there is a place to hold on to even if you lose things — that's family," and he went down to his family's home in Daegu to meet his mother.
Meanwhile, I Live Alone airs every Friday at 11:10 p.m.
