Home Alone Kim Dae-ho spent 70,000 won just on a self car wash.
On the Dec. 12 broadcast of MBC variety show Home Alone (hereafter "Home Alone"), Kim Dae-ho was shown attempting a self car wash.
That day, after rescuing the Damarghini from the vines, Kim Dae-ho went straight to a self-service car wash. Kim Dae-ho said, "The Damarghini has been with me for five years. I've been so busy that I feel I haven't been able to take care of it like I used to. It got hit by a lot of wind and rain and a lot of snow, so a lot of dust built up. It seemed itchy in many places, so I came to give it a bath."
In particular, he confessed, "Actually, I never washed the Damarghini even once. It got rained on so much once that the seats got extremely moldy." Seeing this, Kian84 exclaimed, "I never want to ride it again. It's horrific," drawing laughs.
Kim Dae-ho also said, "I tried to use an automatic car wash, but there's a rack on top. They said the automatic wash can't be used because of the garage. I've never been before and I didn't know where or how to wash it, so I was excited but also nervous," and he attempted the self car wash.
With the owner's help, Kim Dae-ho bought a dedicated card and charged 20,000 won to start washing. Having not read the instructions, he relaxed and lost track of time, and in the end he wasted his first time slot.
The second round was also used up just spraying water, and Kim Dae-ho ended up wasting 20,000 won even before sudsing. Running low on balance, he charged another 20,000 won and sudsed again, and Jun Hyun-moo joked, "Are you trying to bleach it?"
As a self car wash novice, Kim Dae-ho even scrubbed the car with a sponge. When dirty water flowed from the car, he was startled and said, "Why is this color coming out? I was shocked. I thought it was possessed by an evil spirit."
After scrubbing every nook and cranny and rinsing with water, the dirty water did not come off, and he ended up charging for a third time. The owner said, "It usually doesn't cost this much. It's normally 10,000 to 12,000 won," and Kim Dae-ho replied in disbelief, "How do you do it with 10,000 won?"
He struggled with the continuing appearance of black water and had to top up again. Kim Dae-ho said, "How much money am I spending? I'm spending all my money at the car wash," and the panelists reacted, "You could buy a Damarghini for that."
The total charged amount reached 70,000 won. After the owner told him that the rubber was old and that rubbing it produced the residue, Kim Dae-ho finally learned the knack and was able to clean it safely. Joy said, "I think you'll have lost 3 kg by the next day."
After washing for a full 1 hour 35 minutes, Kim Dae-ho expressed satisfaction with the now-clean Damarghini. But Joy pointed out, "Why didn't you clean the interior?" and Jun Hyun-moo hit back, "It would take one night and two days to do the interior," bringing laughs.
