Group S.E.S. member Shoe had a conflict with her husband Im Hyoseong during a trip to Japan.
Shoe on the 12th released new content on her YouTube channel "Human That's Shoe" titled "What happens when the Shoe & Hyosung couple go to a Japanese maid cafe together (infinite moe moe?r)?" In this content Shoe and Im Hyoseong visited a maid cafe, one of Japan's representative cultures.
Im Hyoseong found the maid cafe culture unfamiliar and showed discomfort. He said, "It's not fun. It's awkward, stuff like that. Look at the kids sitting here. Their looks are all lecherous. They seem perverted," which embarrassed Shoe. Im Hyoseong continued to show rejection, saying "It's embarrassing."
Meanwhile Shoe enjoyed the maid cafe culture. Shoe said, "I respect that in Japan people don't hide these things and confidently talk about the things they like."
Then Shoe scolded the expressionless Im Hyoseong, saying, "(Everyone) is so happy. Why are you making this so unpleasant, so mortifying. They work with pride. You can't respect that," she said reproachfully.
In response Im Hyoseong said, "Of course I respect their jobs. But I find it embarrassing that men imitate them directly, aren't most men like that?"
Then Shoe scolded Im Hyoseong, saying, "No, you're the only one like that here. Everyone is enjoying themselves," and Im Hyoseong said, "Those people probably have that tendency. For me, doing things like imitating that is embarrassing," and added, "I followed everything." Im Hyoseong was indeed following the maid cafe rules well.
Im Hyoseong said, "I don't think I would recommend it," adding, "I'm someone with strong Korean sensibilities. Actually the American style is fine. Japan is a bit embarrassing."
