'Let's go to the moon' Jo A-ram meets viewers with a bouncy, ping-pong ball–like character.
MBC's new Fri.-Sat. drama 'Let's go to the moon' (written by Na Yoon-chae, directed by Oh Da-young and Jung Hoon) will premiere on the 19th at 9:50 p.m. 'Let's go to the moon' is a hyperrealism survival drama about three women from humble backgrounds who, unable to survive on their salaries alone, jump into cryptocurrency investment. Lee Seon-bin (as Jung Da-hae), Ra Mi-ran (as Kang Eun-sang), Jo A-ram (as Kim Ji-song) present a special womance that spans the 20s to 40s generations.
Jo A-ram is a rising actress who has built a presence with distinctive performances in the drama 'Dr. Cha Jeong-sook' and the movie 'Victory.' On the variety show Home Alone, she candidly showed an MZ generation lifestyle filled with her own tastes, drawing public attention. Active across various works, Jo A-ram is expected to make a strong impression on the home audience through 'Let's go to the moon.'
In the drama, Jo A-ram plays Kim Ji-song, an unlisted employee in the accounting team at Maron Bakery. Ji-song is a representative of MZ YOLO who enjoys today as if there is no tomorrow, spending freely on new items, romance and hobbies for herself. Her innocent and lovely energy is expected to add vitality to the drama.
Jo A-ram expressed her affection for the work, saying, 'Let's go to the moon' is a work that pleasantly unfolds the friendship, dreams and hopes of three women. I remember that when I first read the script it went by very quickly. Maybe because the characters' stories are about the people around you who you can see if you just turn your gaze a little, I empathized deeply and read it with enjoyment,' she said.
About her role Kim Ji-song, she described, 'She's like a "ping-pong ball." She bounces wherever she is, has a strong presence, and is a friend full of colorful charm.' She revealed the sync rate with herself is 'about 50%,' adding, 'When I'm with Da-hae and Eun-sang unnie, Ji-song's 모습 is very similar to how I am with close acquaintances or family. She charms, plays pranks and likes to have conversations. Above all, the part about wanting to spend each day meaningfully and enjoyably is what Ji-song and I resemble the most,' she explained.
In this work, Jo A-ram takes on a new acting challenge. 'Until now I mainly played characters who did not show their emotions well, but Ji-song is expressive and allows for a wide range of outward transformations, so I could try various things. I put in a lot of effort, so please look forward to it,' she said.
