Singer and actor Kang Mina will not participate in I.O.I's reunion project commemorating the group's 10th debut anniversary.
On the 12th, her agency Story J Company told OSEN, "It is correct that she will not participate. The period being discussed for the reunion activities overlaps with filming for her next drama and the promotional period for the drama that will open later, so she had many concerns," the agency said.
The agency added, "We recognized the long wait and expectations of fans, had lengthy discussions with the artist, and after consulting we respected the artist's wish to focus on her acting activities and concluded that she would likely be unable to participate in this activity."
I.O.I is a project group formed through Mnet's audition program Produce 101, which aired in 2016. They were active for about a year.
As a reunion project is being prepared to mark the 10th debut anniversary in 2026, Kang Mina decided not to participate after deep consideration.
Meanwhile, Kang Mina is currently appearing in KBS2's Twelve and will appear in Netflix's Girigo and tvN's I'm Going to Work Tomorrow! as her next projects.
