On the early morning of the 11th, Kim Heechul explained on his personal YouTube channel the "joke" in which he said he would sue member Donghae. He said it was an episode meant to provide comedic entertainment and that the "lawsuit universe" was continuing.
After Kim Heechul's explanation, Donghae posted on his SNS that afternoon a photo of Kim Heechul with the caption, "Hyung, did you really sue me?" The photo showed long-haired Kim Heechul bowing his head and lowering his eyes. It also created a somewhat serious atmosphere.
Kim Heechul responded. He reposted Donghae's post on his own SNS and wrote, "You deserve to be hit by me once, don't you? When was this photo taken?" which drew attention. It contained a cute anger toward Donghae for revealing his past photo and provoked laughter. Kim Heechul replied to Donghae, and amid the buzz, the "lawsuit joke" between the two continued.
Earlier on the 23rd of last month, Kim Heechul posted on his SNS a photo labeled "complaint" along with the comment, "Did Donghae say nonsense today and surprise you? I'm going to sue Lee Donghae." The photo read "complainant Kim Heechul" and "defendant Lee Donghae," and the legal representative was listed as "Law Firm Wooju DaeStar Entertain."
When Kim Heechul released the complaint, fans' attention focused heavily on it, and as debate continued, Kim Heechul made a direct statement.
Kim Heechul said, "I saw a hilarious placard in Hong Kong. It said, 'Did you sue Donghae oppa?'" and added, "I thought overseas ELF fans really love and enjoy the lawsuit meme between Donghae and me." Responding to criticism that he treated the law as a joke, he frankly said, "Did it really come across that seriously?"
Kim Heechul said, "I enjoy Super Junior variety shows. Our members always make me look good, don't they?" and repeatedly emphasized that the lawsuit joke with Donghae was merely an entertaining, variety-style element.
