The Bulkkot Fighters and Gangneung High finish a game whose outcome was hidden by rain.
In episode 20 of Studio C1's baseball variety show "Bulkkot Baseball," which will be released on the evening of the 15th, viewers see the Bulkkot Fighters and Gangneung High preparing their ranks before the suspended game resumes.
The Bulkkot Fighters and Gangneung High could not complete their matchup during an in-person game in Ulsan held last July because of a sudden heavy downpour. At that time the Fighters led Gangneung High 5-0 through the second inning. Because a suspended game resumes from the point it was halted, play will restart at the bottom of the second with two outs and a runner on first.
The episode shows Gangneung High turning down a rest day after the rainout and throwing themselves into grueling training. They arrive at the stadium determined to beat the Fighters and show threatening hitting by driving big balls over the fence during the ensuing drills.
By contrast, the Fighters gather in the locker room looking relaxed. The Fighters' joking as they review the previous game's lineup brings smiles to viewers. But cracks appear in the Fighters' pitching staff. Yu Hee-kwan bristles at being moved away from center, and Shin Jae-young pours fuel on the fire by saying, "Take a rest." Lee Dae-eun, who comes in next, adds a remark that heats up the pitchers' dissing session. Attention focuses on which of the three pitchers staging their "own league" will perform as the "ace" against Gangneung High.
Meanwhile, this game draws attention because there are players aiming for a .300 batting average. Jeong Eui-yun, Park Jae-wook and Choi Su-hyun are the contenders. The Fighters' varying reactions to those with options at stake add to the curiosity. Will they hit .300 and enjoy "happy baseball"?
Taking practice seriously, the Fighters see Jung Geun-woo and Kim Jae-ho produce big hits that surprise everyone as soon as manager Kim Sung-geun appears. Park Jae-wook also raises expectations for meeting his option with a sharp swing, and manager Kim Sung-geun calls him over to praise him directly. Motivated from the start, the game has hitters who will experience heaven and hell in a single plate appearance, drawing attention.
The result of the resumed game between the Bulkkot Fighters and Gangneung High can be seen on the evening of the 15th (Mon.) at 8 p.m. on Studio C1's official YouTube channel.
