Stills of actors Jo Woo-jin, Jung Kyung-ho, Lee Kyu-hyung and Park Ji-hwan in the film Boss were captured.
On the 12th, the film Boss (director Ra Hee-chan, produced by HYBEMEDIACORP, supplied/distributed by HYBEMEDIACORP, Mindmark) released a variety of character still cuts.
Boss is a comic action film depicting the desperate showdown of organization members who fiercely "yield" the boss position to each other for their own dreams as the next boss election, which will determine the organization's future, approaches.
The released stills preview the film's varied appeal by showing the lead actors' broad acting range and the extreme gap between their "main" and "alter" personas as if each were playing two roles. First, a still of Sun-tae (Jo Woo-jin), the second-in-command of the "family faction" who enjoys strong trust from the members but who is alone and stunned at the prospect of becoming boss, elicits laughter.
Sun-tae wearing an apron and using chef-like delicate hand movements to pull out noodles one by one confirms the passion of his "alter" persona who wants to live as a head chef rather than his "main" persona as a next boss candidate.
A still of Gang-pyo (Jung Kyung-ho) holding a wooden sword with a sharp gaze reveals the "main" persona as the legitimate successor of the organization, but then shifts to show Gang-pyo's free-spirited side as his "alter" persona awakens and wants to become a dancer after falling for tango, creating a 180-degree contrasting charm that piques curiosity.
While Jo Woo-jin and Jung Kyung-ho are the leading candidates for the next boss, they attract attention for being more sincere about their "alter" personas; meanwhile, Pan-ho (Park Ji-hwan), who is solely interested in becoming boss, is the only person who is transparent front and back, but as the organization's number three he will present another polarizing charm with both charisma and a clumsy, innocent side.
Lastly, Tae-gyu (Lee Kyu-hyung), who infiltrated the Chinese restaurant Mimi-ru to wipe out the "family faction," is an undercover police officer as his "main" persona but repeatedly fails operations; by contrast, his "alter" persona perfectly handles taking orders and serving at Mimi-ru, which will provoke laughter. With Jo Woo-jin, Jung Kyung-ho, Park Ji-hwan and Lee Kyu-hyung portraying four characters, each displaying a kaleidoscope of charms, anticipation for the film is further heightened.
Boss is scheduled to be released during this year's Chuseok holiday.
