Broadcaster Hong Seok-cheon warned that a man in his 30s is impersonating him.
On the 12th, Hong Seok-cheon posted a long message on his personal social media saying, "These days there are so many people committing all kinds of scams."
That day Hong Seok-cheon said, "A man in his 30s who said he was my fan asked me to visit the Han River [fast boat line] where he works just once, so I went once and took photos and videos; that's all, but he even faked KakaoTalk messages to create the appearance of a close relationship and is saying I will solve people's money problems while scamming women around him out of tens of millions of won — we have received multiple reports of this kind of harm."
He added, "Please be careful of any man in his 30s who uses my name and claims a close relationship to ask to borrow money or to ask for investments," and urged, "If you have been victimized, report it to the police. They use methods like creating fake messages to make people believe they are close to celebrities."
Hong Seok-cheon also added, "I will talk about this soon on my YouTube channel 'Hong Seok-cheon's Usefulness.' After confirming the legal issues, we will respond."
The released photo shows messages sent by the impersonator claiming to be Hong Seok-cheon. The impostor specifically mentioned Lalla and even suggested filming a YouTube video, and also fraudulently claimed that Lalla would be calling.
In response, Lalla said in a comment, "I do not call anyone," and Hong Seok-cheon apologized to Lalla, who suffered damage from being unnecessarily mentioned, saying, "Yes, Lalla, I'm sorry."
