Actor Kim Gun-woo grants a role in "Last Summer," taking on an acting transformation.
The new KBS 2TV Saturday-Sunday miniseries "Last Summer," directed by Min Yeon-hong and written by Jeon Yu-ri, scheduled to premiere Nov. 1 at 9:20 p.m., is a remodeling romance drama that unfolds as a man and woman who have been friends since childhood confront the truth of their first love hidden inside Pandora's box.
Kim Gun-woo meets viewers as Seo Soo-hyeok, the youngest son of Korea's top law firm Seo & Joo and an appeals specialist lawyer. Soo-hyeok has unique skills that allow him to overturn difficult cases that have gone to the appellate and supreme courts in one move, but his win rate drops from 100% to 99% when he suffers his first loss while taking on a case related to Song Ha-kyung (played by Choi Seong-eun). In addition, Soo-hyeok is portrayed as having a unique habit of organizing situations with a nine-square bingo board not only for trial matters but also in daily life, adding interest.
The stills released today (12th) capture Kim Gun-woo fully merged with Seo Soo-hyeok. Kim Gun-woo exudes a refined elegance different from his previous intense image with neatly styled hair and a tidy suit fit. Viewers can also glimpse his professional moments as he sits at the defense table immersed in winning the trial, which draws attention.
Meanwhile, Kim Gun-woo's smile, which shifts between seriousness and softness, also draws attention. He is said to show a strong presence as Do-ha's lawyer in the courtroom clash between Baek Do-ha (played by Lee Jae-wook) and Ha-kyung. Moreover, Soo-hyeok, who reunited with Ha-kyung—the one who once dropped his win rate to 99%—becomes entangled with her again, and in the process Kim Gun-woo will delicately portray Soo-hyeok's "pursuing" behavior toward Ha-kyung.
Kim Gun-woo, who has been active in dramas such as "The Glory," "Catch the Ghost," "Live," and "Fight for My Way," is expected to show the epitome of dandyism through "Last Summer." In particular, having left a deep impact as Son Myung-o in "The Glory," he is said to fully unleash a completely different charm as the character Seo Soo-hyeok, raising expectations.
Meanwhile, "Last Summer" brings together director Min Yeon-hong, who showed stylish directing in "Royal Trader," the "Missing: They Were There" series and "Insider," and writer Jeon Yu-ri, who has been recognized for delicate writing in works such as "Kiss Sixth Sense" and "Radio Romance."
