Singer and actress Kang Mina will not participate in I.O.I's 10th anniversary reunion project.
On the 12th, her agency Story J Company told OSEN that "she will not participate" regarding Kang Mina's absence from I.O.I's reunion project.
Kang Mina's side explained the specific reason for not participating, saying, "The period being discussed for the reunion activities overlaps with the filming of her next drama and the promotional period for the drama that is scheduled to open later, so there was a lot of concern."
In fact, Kang Mina is currently appearing in the drama "Twelve," which is being released through KBS2 and Disney+. She also appeared in the recently released Netflix film "Love Untangled" and was active.
In addition, she has confirmed appearances in the Netflix series "Girigo" and the tvN Monday-Tuesday drama "Tomorrow, too, to work!" Her next projects are piling up.
The agency explained, "We recognized that fans have been waiting and anticipating this for a long time, so we had lengthy discussions with the artist, and after consulting, we respected the artist's opinion that she wants to focus on her acting career and concluded that it would be difficult for her to participate in this activity."
Meanwhile, I.O.I is a project group formed through the Mnet audition program "Produce 101," which aired in 2016. They promoted for about a year.
Recently, members such as Jeon So-mi and Jung Chae-yeon expressed positive reactions to the 10th anniversary reunion in interviews. While preparing a reunion project to commemorate the 10th anniversary of their debut in 2026, Kang Mina decided not to participate after deep consideration.
