Radio Star
On the Oct. 10 broadcast of MBC variety show 'Radio Star', which was held as a "rich dad in spirit, poor dad in body" special, Shim Hyeong-tak revealed his son Haru and gave an update on his recent life.
Currently appearing on 'The Return of Superman' and showing his son Haru and their cozy daily life, Shim Hyeong-tak said he is living a second heyday since becoming a father and bragged, "I appeared on 'The Return of Superman' and for three months achieved the highest ratings. At moments the ratings exceeded 5%."
However, his wife Saya had worries about revealing their son. Shim Hyeong-tak said, "Japanese entertainers don't often reveal their families. But Korean variety shows either show family reveals or real-life activities. Because of that, at first she didn't understand appearing herself."
He continued, "On the first broadcast day I was at my mother-in-law's house in Japan. After a few days in Japan people recognized Haru. They came to the in-laws' place and took photos. Then on the flight home I wasn't visible. They only looked at Haru. They called, 'Haru, Haru.'"
When Kim Guk-jin, seeing Haru, marveled that "he looks like he came out of a comic book," Shim Hyeong-tak expressed affection, saying, "First of all, my wife looks like a comic book character."
Shim Hyeong-tak added, "I've actually been an actor for 25 years. When I post only my photos on my social media, they don't get likes. When I post photos of the child, they get tens of thousands of likes," and hearing this, Lim Hyeong-jun empathized, "I once posted only my photos and took them down," drawing laughter.
