BigHit Music's new group Cortis (CORTIS) has dominated major domestic and international charts.
According to Hanteo Chart data on the 11th, Cortis (Martin, James, Juhun, Sunghyun, Geonho)'s debut album "COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES" exceeded cumulative sales of 310,000 copies three days after its release. After setting the highest first-day sales among rookies who debuted this year, it has shown a steady upward trend.
Cortis's performance shone even more on global charts. Their debut album ranked No. 65 on Apple Music's "Top Albums" in the U.S. (Sept. 9). Cortis was the only K-pop artist on that chart that day. The album also entered the U.S. iTunes "Top Albums" at No. 88 and reached a peak of No. 32 as of midnight on the 11th, continuing a remarkable rise at the center of the global music market.
Also, Cortis's album secured No. 2 on Japan's Oricon "Daily Album Ranking" (Sept. 9), lighting a success signal from the first day of its local release.
The strong results on China's largest music streaming platform QQ Music's latest chart (Sept. 10) are also noteworthy. Every track on the debut album surged, entering the trending index and the new song chart. In particular, the intro track "GO!" landed at No. 1 on the rising chart, drawing attention. The follow-up track "FaSHioN" (No. 3), the title track "What You Want" (No. 13), "JoyRide" (No. 17), and "Lullaby" (No. 52) also ranked. In addition, three songs — "GO!" (No. 3), "FaSHioN" (No. 27), and "JoyRide" (No. 84) — entered QQ Music's main song chart "Hot Song."
Cortis's popularity spread to social media. Their official Instagram follower count surpassed 2 million at about 8:30 p.m. on the 10th. One million followers were added 17 days after reaching 1 million followers on the 24th of last month.
Cortis is the rookie group HYBE Music Group's label BigHit Music is presenting six years after BTS and TOMORROW X TOGETHER. They will begin promotions for the follow-up track "FaSHioN" starting with Mnet's "M Countdown" on the 11th.
