NewJeans did not attend the second mediation session held during the exclusive contract dispute with ADOR.
On the afternoon of the 11th, the second mediation session in the lawsuit filed by ADOR against NewJeans seeking a declaration of the validity of the exclusive contract was held under the presiding of Civil Division 41 of the Seoul Central District Court (Presiding Judge Jeong Hoe-il).
The mediation procedure that day was conducted privately, as with the first mediation session, and the NewJeans members did not attend.
At a prior hearing the court encouraged mediation and requested the members' attendance, saying, "It seems that people with actual authority should come out," and at the mediation session held last month members Minji and Danielle attended and a private mediation was conducted.
The two sides met face-to-face for about 1 hour and 20 minutes for a private mediation procedure, and the members left the courthouse without offering any particular comment to reporters. As a result, it is not known publicly what outcome the two sides reached at the first mediation session.
However, questions arise about how the mediation procedure will proceed with the members not attending the second mediation session in person.
If the mediation is concluded that day, the dispute between the two sides will end, and if no agreement is reached, the court's ruling will be delivered on Oct. 30.
