The YouTube variety show 'Pajama Party' (planned and produced by Sandbox Network), which keeps delivering legendary episodes each time, is this time drawing attention for bringing laughter and emotion to pet owners.
On the 16th episode of 'Pajama Party,' the "dog lover" special, released on the 10th, broadcaster Harisu and choreographer Monika appeared as guests and revealed the busy daily lives of the two celebrities living as "dog caretakers." Through 'Pajama Party' the two have been sharing recent updates as well as memories and affections they built with their dogs in candid talk full of laughter and tears, drawing strong reactions from viewers.
Harisu revealed that she currently lives with as many as 11 dogs, surprising viewers.
She said that because she has so many dogs to care for she pours in time and devotion, noting, "A dog I had fostered from a shelter came back with a contagious disease. When the dogs were getting sick one after another for nearly two months, the vet bills once exceeded 10 million won," sharing the difficulty of her daily life. She added, "Rather than thinking it was a waste of money, all I could think was we had to treat them quickly. I was just so grateful for their health," showing deep affection as a pet owner. She also confessed that after losing her dog Bobby, who had been with her for 13 years, she still suffers from pet loss syndrome and broke into tears, evoking sympathy.
MC Kim Ddolddol, who is active as a "gay creator," repeatedly expressed "respect" for first-generation transgender broadcaster Harisu, saying, "If it weren't for Harisu or senior Hong Seok-cheon, I don't think I could have come out like this," showing his admiration. In response, Harisu recalled the difficult debut process, saying, "After revealing that I was transgender, I was often told 'let's check if she's a woman' and was asked to have sex or told to take off my clothes. Because of that, I gave up roles and failed to sign contracts many times," a shocking confession that surprised those present.
Monika, who made headlines by announcing her marriage and pregnancy at the same time, shared an update at four months after giving birth and revealed stories about her dogs.
She, who raises the dogs "Seonhae" and "Chakhae," said, "Before giving birth I, after much deliberation, temporarily sent the dogs to my in-laws' house," adding, "We were cautious because we didn't yet know the baby's temperament or allergies. After long discussions, they will be apart for about six to seven months," expressing longing and affection for her dogs.
Monika also shared behind-the-scenes of reuniting with a former dog that had become a topic through tvN's "Lonely Trainer." She recalled the moving moment, saying, "A dog named 'Samantha' meant a lot to me. When I saw her again it was chaos. She ran to me just like before the moment she saw me, and my emotions exploded." She went on to describe life as a dancer, mother and dog owner, saying, "My child and my dogs give me strength, but dance is now a place where I'm judged, so I'm tense every day," conveying the bittersweet reality and drawing empathy.
'Pajama Party' is a YouTube talk variety show with a home party concept featuring only female guests, with "hot gay" creator Kim Ddolddol serving as the sole MC and showcasing a different genuine sisterly chemistry each episode. So far, broadcaster Seo Yu-ri, Nancy Lang, former Laboum member Yulhee, YouTuber Hibap, comedian Lee Se-young and actress Choi Yeo-jin have appeared, continuing steady buzz.
Meanwhile, the honest stories shared by the affectionate "dog caretakers" Harisu and Monika can be seen on the YouTube channel "This Is the Real Final."
