Actor Ha Seung-ri returns as the passionate young person Kang Mar-ee, who drives straight toward her dreams despite a harsh reality.
The new KBS 1TV daily drama "Mari and the Unusual Dads," set to premiere in October (directed by Seo Yong-soo, written by Kim Hong-ju), is a drama about Mar-ee searching far and wide for her father! It depicts the birth of an unusual family that is truer than blood and more persistent than sperm.
Ha Seung-ri appears as Kang Mar-ee, the breadwinner girl who, despite a complicated family environment, does not lose sight of her part-time job and studies, juggling two ambitions. Living with her still-immature mother Ju Si-ra (played by Park Eun-hye) and grandmother Yoon Soon-ae (played by Geum Bo-ra) naturally made her a logical, rational, and tough character. One day, Mar-ee's life starts to unravel properly when her father, Kang Min-bo (played by Hwang Dong-joo), who had been secretly in contact, returns to Korea.
In the released stills on the 11th, Ha Seung-ri captivates attention with her perfect immersion into the Kang Mar-ee character. As someone preparing to become a doctor, she flawlessly pulls off a neat hospital uniform, transforming into Mar-ee from her outward appearance. In another still, she looks out the window with eyes that silently endure reality, revealing her complex and layered inner world. Her awkward but shy smile and the fresh image of a 20-something youth boast a perfect sync with Mar-ee's character.
A 26-year veteran actress who has built her acting skills through various works since childhood, Ha Seung-ri will delicately portray the process of growth as her character experiences unexpected events in "Mari and the Unusual Dads."
