A member of the group Highlight and actor Yoon Dujun will meet audiences with Pongdang Pongdang Love: The Movie.
Pongdang Pongdang Love: The Movie, starring Yoon Dujun and actress Kim Seul-gi (screenplay and director Kim Ji-hyun), will open exclusively at Lotte Cinema on Oct. 9, which is Hangul Day.
Pongdang Pongdang Love was a two-part single-episode drama that aired on MBC in 2015, and to mark the 10th anniversary of its broadcast this year, it returns to fans as a film. The work depicts a fantasy romance that transcends time and space, in which Dan-bi, a third-year high school student who has given up on math (played by Kim Seul-gi), time slips to the Joseon era through rain and meets King Yi Do of Joseon (played by Yoon Dujun). It was also a popular work that received much love, advancing to the final round in three categories at the Seoul Drama Awards 2016 and to the finals in the TV movie/miniseries category at the 2016 International Emmy Awards.
In particular, since Pongdang Pongdang Love: The Movie opens to coincide with Hangul Day, it is expected to offer a meaningful time to reflect on the achievements of King Sejong, Yi Do, portrayed by Yoon Dujun in the film. The two leads, Yoon Dujun and Kim Seul-gi, recently appeared in the tvN single-episode anthology series O'PENing 2025 in the work Nyangyukkwon War, proving their enduring synergy. Expectations are rising for the on-screen romantic chemistry of the two as they reunite in theaters.
