"Radio Star" cast member Kim Soo-yong confessed the story of how he regrettably missed the chance to become a major shareholder.
On the Oct. 10 broadcast of MBC entertainment show "Radio Star," in the "Heart is rich dad, body is poor dad" special, Kim Soo-yong, Lim Hyung-joon, Shim Hyung-tak and Kim In-man grants.
Kim Soo-yong, who has been with Song Eun-yi's agency for two years, said, "I do a lot of external lectures and events," noting, "If directors like Jang Hang-jun are unavailable, it comes to me. Even if the content is different, it comes."
When asked about the theme, he said, "I give lectures with titles like 'Living slowly but living true to myself in a fast world,'" and explained, "It's substantial. I have an opening. When I lecture, I'm a comedian in private life. Today is a public occasion, so I won't be funny. Because I'm a comedian, I sometimes accidentally make people laugh. Then I ask them to hold back."
He went on, "There is a teacher at the company who teaches how to lecture. I had hard training for three months. Comedians have an obsession that they must be funny everywhere, but they said you don't have to be funny in lectures. You don't have to be hugely funny; as long as there is substance, it's fine," saying it suited his aptitude.
Meanwhile, Kim Gu-ra asked Kim Soo-yong, "As far as I know, a few years ago you told us there were comfortable shoes and told us to try them on, and now those shoes have exploded in popularity. I heard you're a shareholder," he asked.
When L-brand sneakers were mentioned, Yoo Se-yoon said in surprise, "Did you do that, senior?" and Kim Soo-yong said flatly, "They came out before they became popular."
Kim Gu-ra also asked, "How much was the stake?" Kim Soo-yong said his equity was 5% and expressed regret, saying, "I almost hit the jackpot." He said the current stake is worth several hundred billion won. When Kim Gu-ra expressed sympathy, Kim Soo-yong said, "I have no greed for wealth," but when told, "You seem sad that a lifetime of good fortune was missed," he joked, "I'm very sad."
Meanwhile, Kim Soo-yong revealed that his daughter is already a 17-year-old high school junior and shared an anecdote. He said, "My daughter's puberty is over. Her looks are 70% like me," and when asked about his trademark dark circles, he said, "I looked closely too, and fortunately there are no dark circles."
Then Kim Gu-ra said, "When Dong-hyun was born, I looked at his chin too," and Lim Hyung-joon added, "When I look at my child, I only look at the pupils," which drew laughter.
Kim Soo-yong said his daughter's personality also resembles him, saying, "She's chic. When she comes back late from an amusement park, her mother told her, 'Text me when you get on the subway,' and the kid sent a single long character, 'tam.' She doesn't have long conversations."
He added with bitterness, "When she became a high school student, she whispers fun things with her mom. If I'm at home and go to the two of them, they stop talking. When we're apart, they talk again."
When the MCs asked if she was talking about a boyfriend, Kim Soo-yong said, "I don't really care whether she has a boyfriend or not," and lamented, "My daughter says she likes anyone her father opposes. When a bad man appears in a drama, she says, 'So you like someone like dad,' but my daughter just calls her father a bad person, a bad man."
